The Rise of Chief Story Officers
Here are three reasons why I’m forecasting the rise of Chief Story Officers in corporate culture:
All leading brands will become media companies, in that they must produce extraordinary content that shares multiple, non-linear storylines in a storyworld to compete for mindshare.
User-generated content already drives the story, thanks to the proliferation of affordable technology, like smart phones with multimedia production and social sharing tools.
To compete, it’s already mandatory to build legions of targeted superfans, with dynamic inbound brand content. The best chance for success: share a good story.
Organizations are coming out as media companies. This is great news for us storytellers. Long live the narrative. For storytellers, there has never been a better time to find a business as your patron.
